The Second Set Jazz Club is a premium private membership club featuring six national jazz artist residencies each year in an approximately 150-seat environment. Membership includes admission to one performance during each residency.

The Second Set is designed to recreate the close-up atmosphere and ambiance that made the traditional intimate jazz club extraordinary—without making the experience stiff, overly formal, or uncomfortable.

The Second Set is not designed to become the largest entertainment room in Detroit. It is designed to create one of the most intimate premium live-music experiences in the market.
Six Artist Residencies

The Second Set National Artist Series is planned around six nationally recognized artist residencies each year. Each residency is presented Friday and Saturday, with two performances each evening—four total performances per residency.
Every active member receives one included performance admission during each residency, subject to reservation priority and availability.

Founding Membership
The Second Set is intentionally building its membership community before activating the complete National Artist Series.
Initial membership is expected to be limited to approximately 450 members. Once that allocation is filled, enrollment will close and a waiting list will begin.
The purpose of the limit is simple: protect the intimate experience that defines The Second Set.
