About the Club

The Second Set Jazz Club was created around a simple idea:
Great jazz feels different when you are close enough to truly experience it.

The vision is rooted in an appreciation for the traditional intimate jazz-club atmosphere—small room, close connection between artist and audience, excellent musicianship, comfortable hospitality, and a shared respect for the performance.

At launch, The Second Set updates that tradition through a premium membership model centered on nationally recognized Traditional Jazz, Classic Jazz, and Straight-Ahead Jazz artists.

The club is designed to feel sophisticated but relaxed, exclusive but welcoming, and premium without becoming pretentious or formal.

The vision also builds on prior Detroit-area experience presenting Jazz programming and small live performances through the Rhythm Jazz and Blue Society.

The Second Set is the next evolution of that idea: a membership community built around getting closer to authentic jazz.

Future expansion may introduce Smooth Jazz, Blues, Soul, and R&B, but those styles are not part of the current launch programming.
